Winter at Les Hauts Pâturages
Winter arrives at Les Hauts Pâturages

Outside July and August we often turn La Bigourdane into a boutique hotel giving our guests the opportunity to be pampered with beautiful antique french linen and locally produced food (from our own orchards and veggie gardens) where possible.  Perfect for a long romantic weekend with rose petals and champagne to action packed cycling, walking or ski breaks.

In the lounge there is a roaring fire and plenty of sofa space.  Coffee tables swamped with magazines and guide books.  TV and XBox of course but should you want a complete rest we have a large selection of books, board games and cards.  In the corner a scrubbed pine table is set with a selection of teas, juices and a Nespresso complete with a selection of coffee pods and sugar.  At 16.00 each day you will find a freshly made cake or tray of biscuits.  Dinner is served at 20.00.

If you require cots, highchairs and all all the usual equipment that parents need when holidaying with their angels please let us know when booking and we can organise everything for you.

Upstairs is a geometric colossus of oak beams, sloping ceilings and great views.  The beds are made up ‘french style’ with bolster, 4 square pillows and white bed linen, topped with a light throw in summer and snuggly duvets in winter.  Hairdryers are in every bedroom along with blankets (the nights can get chilly quickly in the mountains). Each room has plenty of cupboard space, a dressing table and mirror. Irons and ironing boards are available just ask.

The downstairs suite has own private terrace with sitting room and en-suite along with its own wood burning stove.  This suite, although popular with couples having a romantic weekend away can be reconfigured to either two large doubles or kingsize bed and 2 singles each having their own sleeping area – perfect for families.

All the bathrooms are kitted out with essential toiletries and thick fluffy towels. In addition, pool towels are supplied for our guests. A heated swimming pool is available for all the guests staying at Les Hauts Paturages during the summer season.

Breakfast can be served outside on sunny days or if you prefer around the monks  table.  Start the day with a selection of seasonal fruit – warm spiced compôt in winter and seasonal fruits in spring and summer.  We provide a selection of cereals, our own yogurt, croissants, pain au raison and pain au chocolate, all baked daily served with home-made preserves.  If you are having a action packed day we can rustle up eggs, bacon and sausage!  A selection of juices, teas, infusions and fresh coffee – all  included in the room rate.

Table d’hote
Available at 20.00 each evening we offer our ‘table d’hôte’.   This is a four course meal in french style (we all eat together at a long table) featuring locally produced, fresh, seasonal and flavoursome food. Ossun ez Angles is a typical Pyrenean village, surrounded by mountains.  Weaving together the flavours of the black Bigorre pigs, the Baregeoise sheep, and the local cheese from the Val D’Azun, our dishes draw inspiration from all corners of Europe and beyond.  The costs in 25 euros per adult and 10 euros per child.  The meal includes a demi carafe of local wine per couple and coffee.

The menu is set, however just let us know if you have specially dietary requirements or prefer the veggie option.  48 hours notice is required.

Our bed and breakfast rate which includes breakfast is 80 euros per room per day. There is an Taxe de séjour which is the local tourist tax of 0.60cts per person per day. We offer a choice of BACS, SEPA or you can send a cheque.
